“Continuous support during labor has clinically meaningful benefits for women and infants and no known harm. All women should have support throughout labor and birth…. Continuous support from a person who is present solely to provide support, is not a member of the woman’s social network, is experienced in providing labor support, and has at least a modest amount of training, appears to be most beneficial.”

Details: On baby day I will remind you of the guidelines of when to go to the hospital/birth center or to call your provider. I will be available throughout your labor either by text, phone, or video. Most communication would probably run via text through your birth partner, so as not to disrupt the flow of labor. I will be available to answer any questions/concerns/needs your birth partner may have throughout the day. I will also be available for phone calls/being on speaker phone with you to be able to discuss any potential big decisions (i.e. breaking water, epidural, etc.) or anything else along the way. Video is also an option if you need visual demonstrations for positioning or comfort measures.
When your baby is here, I will check in to see how you and your transition home is going. This can happen via phone call or video communication.
